Every golfer wants to get that little extra distance off the tee. No matter your playing level you can always improve on your physical performance.
Here are 5 exercises you can do from the comfort of your own home and are guaranteed to improve your golf game.
Internal Hip Rotation
Golf is a rotation sport and many golfers lack rotation through their hips and spine. This exercise will help you get those hips moving.
Start by sitting in a bear position, bend your knees and press your heels into the group so that the knees push apart. It’s recommended to repeat this exercise 10 times holding the stretch for a second or two.
This exercise focuses on lower body strength the stronger someone is through their legs means the faster they will be able to swing the club. Start standing in a goblet position and screw your feet into the group. Now lower down through your maximum range of motion. Start the exercise by holding onto something until you feel comfortable doing the squat on your own weight.

This exercise focuses on your upper body. Use something to elevate your hands and get your
Elbows to around 40 degrees. This exercise will strengthen your pectoral muscles as well as improve the stability of soft tissue in your shoulders. This plays a key role in controlling the position of your club swings. You can do this exercise on your staircase at home starting on maybe 3 steps up from the group. It’s recommended to do 3 sets of 10 reps.
Medicine Ball Rotations
This exercise focuses on your core, your core is made up of four muscles and you can target all four with this exercise. This muscle is used throughout the golf swing and is important that your core is strong enough to allow for proper rotation and posture. We recommend starting with a 10-lb ball and performing 3 sets of 25-30 reps.
As we get older we will start to lose muscle mass and strength which means we lose the ability to generate force quickly. Squats are great exercises that work on different areas of the body, in particular your lower body. People who have more muscle in their quad and glutes generally will have a better golf swing.
